Avatars are the essence of an individual’s energy reflected in paint on glass. My choices of color and movement are driven by my deepest, wordless impressions of a specific individual. The glass, as a substrate, contributes a layered effect – a perfect visual metaphor for the richness, subtlety, and mystery of my subjects.

My works are often commissioned by individuals desiring insight into themselves and others. Each painting tells a detailed story of the life and lives, as represented by color and movement. My intention is to capture the quality of the individual who commissioned the work so that they can visualize the contribution they make to the world and to others.

I have been a practitioner of Kahuna for more than 30 years. Kahuna is a traditional Hawaiian healing method that utilizes channeling and connecting with the unseen world. My art has evolved directly out of my practice.
