/Meet Your Maker was an introduction to local artisan’s talents on November 1st at The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesman of the City of New York at 20 West 44th Street.
I had the privilege of working at the Costello Studio, Inc., CSI’s table with Michele Costello, a longtime friend who has dedicated herself to her craft. Following a traditional seven year apprenticeship, Michele opened Costello Studio Inc., incorporating her business knowledge with her skills as an artisan. Michele had the choice of having a studio to create in or an apartment where she could enjoy the comforts of life. She gave up her apartment and slept on the floor of her studio, slop sink and all….
Today Costello Studio, Inc. has 32 years of experience producing custom leather projects and installations for Architects, Interior Designers and Construction Companies. Costello Studio, Inc and CSI Designs has become known for the highest quality Architectural and Decorative details; hand crafted, hand dyed Leather, Parchment and Shagreen. .
